About the role

  • The Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities, including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform property checks for service and cleanliness needs.
  • Notify the Maintenance Lead Tech of potential maintenance problems.
  • Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician (e.g., drywall, painting, repairing doors and fixtures).
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on building systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts/materials used.
  • Participate in community-building activities as appropriate to the position.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in general maintenance, facilities, or related trade.
  • This position is assigned to a women's residential campus and requires professionalism, discretion, and a clear understanding of the sensitivity and privacy required in a women's living environment.
  • Must be able to pass a security clearance.

Nice to have

  • Experience working in women's facilities, residential programs, or nonprofit settings.
  • OSHA or other safety training certifications.
  • Certifications or Licenses
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) & ESR (Emergency Service Response) certification.
  • Skills and Abilities
  • Strong working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and basic HVAC systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems independently.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
