Responsibilities
- Perform equipment maintenance according to the laboratory's standard operating procedures for the following but not limited to: centrifuges, freezers, refrigerators, pipettors, Fragment Analyzer, Microplate Reader, NovaSeqs, and Hamiltons as needed.
- Create sample batches, print labels and label tubes and plates.
- Maintain sufficient inventory of material, supplies and equipment in the laboratory for performance of duties.
- Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.
- Assist with organizing and maintaining laboratory, equipment, personnel and training documents.
- Work closely with the CLS's and Accessioning Teams to provide consistent and ongoing support to the entire service department.
- Implement process improvement opportunities and report to laboratory management.
Nice to have
- Bachelors in biological sciences or related fields preferred.
- Experience with Molecular Biology.
- Four or more years of work experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Flexibility to variable shift start times depending on operational needs.
- High sample volume laboratory experience preferred.
- Experience working with automated equipment/systems.
- Have working knowledge of local, state and federal laboratory regulations.
