- This role is for an engineer who combines strong hands-on delivery with technical leadership, and who can set direction for architecture, quality, and engineering practices while partnering with product, UX, and peer engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- We collaborate with product managers, UX and other development teams globally across Resmed.
- We own features from development all the way through to production.
- You will operate autonomously, mentor engineers, drive high standards, and influence technical decisions across teams.
- You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams across time zones (primarily Sydney, Australia).
- Leading the design and delivery of large, ambiguous feature initiatives across multiple services and micro-frontends (our application uses a React-based micro-frontend architecture)
- Partnering with others to design, implement, and continuously improve Kubernetes infrastructure and service reliability
- Mentoring engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical coaching; promoting strong engineering practices across the team

Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial experience shipping and operating production systems at scale
Skills
- Strong production experience with an object-oriented language (Java preferred)
- Strong production experience with a web application framework (React preferred)
- Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code while upholding strong engineering standards
- Experience designing and implementing automated unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end tests
- Experience partnering with product and cross-functional stakeholders to shape scope, delivery plans, and technical outcomes
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical decisions clearly to varied audiences
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a bias toward measurable outcomes
- Experience working with task management tools such as Jira
- Experience working with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog
- Experience coding with AI tools and applying them effectively in day-to-day development workflows
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Strong experience with microservice and micro-frontend architectures
Compensation
- $143,000 - $179,000 USD.
- A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is: $143,000 - $179,000 USD.
