About the role
- Working closely with the Program Director and other TERA staff, the Program Coordinator:
- Assists with program planning and development
- Coordinates and participates in outreach activities, interfacing with Tribal and non-Tribal communities
Responsibilities
- Custom trainings / workshops for Tribal partners
- Schedule, participate in, and take notes for program planning meetings among TERA team and with relevant partners
- Assist Program Director and other staff/instructors with developing curriculum and course agendas
- Collaborate with Communications team to develop and implement outreach strategies, including emails, web pages, flyers, social media content, and newsletter content
- Draft and send informational emails to program participants, instructors/mentors, and other partners
- Build capacity for native voices to play a central role in land stewardship
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience working with Tribal communities
- Strong writing, storytelling, and communications skills with the ability to listen and speak effectively.
- Ability to listen well, and give and receive direct, honest, and constructive feedback
- In addition, the following are required minimum qualifications for this position:
- Working knowledge of Pomo languages or Native language revitalization
- 1+ years experience as a practitioner of ecocultural stewardship
- 1+ years experience with community engagement and outreach
- 1+ years experience in digital communications, storytelling, and/or media production
