Responsibilities

  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the People Operations team to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Works closely with Senior Leaders, People Leaders, and Team Members to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of Team Members, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.

Nice to have

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a dedicated HRBP role - ideally within a consumer, retail, or DTC brand environment.
  • Deep employee relations expertise, including conducting thorough, unbiased investigations and navigating complex, sensitive situations with discretion and sound judgment.
  • Strong command of California employment law and HR compliance requirements
  • experience in a CA-headquartered or CA-majority workforce is a strong plus.
  • Experience supporting both corporate and hourly/retail workforces - the ability to flex your partnership style across very different employee populations.
  • A builder's mentality - you're energized by ambiguity, don't need a playbook handed to you, and take pride in creating structure where little exists.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • you earn trust quickly, handle conflict with maturity, and know when to push back on leadership.
