About the role

Ensures lowest cost transportation by analyzing company and customer needs, researching transportation methods and auditing carrier costs and performances.
May interpret laws, rules and regulations regarding shipping and prepare applications for import/export control certifications and licenses.
Plans and coordinates fleet operations, including acquisition, scheduling, maintenance service and repair, and disposal of trucks, and hires and/or interacts with common carriers (third-party transportation companies) as appropriate.

MANAGEMENT SCOPE/BREADTH: Supervises team members who perform either a single task, or multiple but closely related tasks.
Coordinates and consolidates domestic and international systems to support shipments.
May maintain logs and compile information on routes, rates and services on various vendors.
Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of a team or like teams of employees in the professional, business support and/or operations support career streams
Manages activities of a team that range from routine to moderately complex; coordinates work activities with other supervisors.
Supervises team members who perform either a single task, or multiple but closely related tasks.

Must be willing/able to provide oversite of Warehouse staff for Supervisor PTO coverage with same shift hours
Must be willing/able to pass DOT medical certification
MINIMUM EDUCATION & TYPICAL EXPERIENCE OR EQUIV.
