About the role

  • You will blend technical leadership with people management, driving engineering excellence while fostering a collaborative, innovative, and results-oriented team environment.
  • This position is 100% onsite, day 1 in our Erlanger, KY office.
  • Communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences, translating business needs into actionable engineering solutions.

  • As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead high-performing application development teams to design, build, and deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions that support critical business operations.
  • This role partners closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and external vendors to ensure technology solutions align with organizational goals and deliver measurable value.
  • Lead and manage software engineering teams, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, architects, and product teams to define and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and project timelines to ensure efficient execution of technology initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience leading software engineering or application development teams.
  • Proven experience delivering complex software solutions in a business-driven environment.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with business stakeholders.
  • Experience working with modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Java,.NET, Python, or similar).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound technical and business decisions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, AI/ML technologies, or modern data solutions.
  • Experience with Agile, DevOps, or CI/CD practices.
  • Experience implementing or supporting AI-enabled applications or automation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of security, scalability, and performance considerations in enterprise systems.
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Must be able to perform repetitive motions and use fine motor skills (i.e. typing, writing) to operate office supplies (i.e. computer, calculator, copier).
  • Must be able to lift and carry approximately 20-25lbs unassisted.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time with low periods of reaching and standing.

Skills

  • Oversee vendor partnerships and ensure successful delivery of externally supported solutions.
  • Establish and enforce development standards, best practices, and governance processes.
  • Ensure software quality through testing strategies, code reviews, and performance monitoring.
  • Stay current on industry trends and bring innovative ideas to improve systems and processes.
