About the role

  • Make a lasting impact on youth development in Pershing County
  • Engage with a wide variety of community members and stakeholders
  • Contribute to innovative programs that address local needs and priorities

Responsibilities

  • Recruiting, training, mentoring, and supporting adult volunteers who deliver 4-H programming throughout the county
  • Developing strategies to recruit and engage youth in 4-H programs and activities
  • Building collaborative partnerships with Extension faculty and staff, county personnel, schools, community organizations, and families
  • Providing training and support to after-school educators and youth program providers
  • Work alongside dedicated Extension professionals, volunteers, and community partners
  • As a key member of the Extension team, you will coordinate and support a variety of youth development programs that enrich the lives of local youth and strengthen community engagement.
  • Mountain EAP supports employees (and eligible dependents) through life's difficult moments. Mountain EAP is located in Reno and specializes in counseling and advising services for personal or interpersonal issues.

Requirements

  • A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

Compensation

  • In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step.
  • Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate's qualifications, internal equity and budgets.
  • A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.
