About the role
- The hardware ranges from manned and unmanned aircraft and space vehicles to individual system components, to test articles, facilities, and testing arrangements supporting these vehicles and their subsystems.
- The salary range for this position is $90,000-$120,000.
- Individual salaries will reflect education and experience.
Responsibilities
- Support laboratory testing of structural concepts including mechanical testing of components to generate structural, and performing robotic assembly of structures, as needed. Including test design, set-up, execution, data collection, and analysis.
- Provide CAD design and sizing of components for mechanism systems to be used on spaceflight hardware
- Develop reports, presentations and other documentation
- Attend meetings and teleconferences and be ready to discuss issues seen in design, qualification and acceptance plans and reports
- Demonstrated experience in CAD design and sizing of components for mechanism systems.
Requirements
- For staff level Mechanical Engineers: Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 2 - 4years of experience, or a Master's with 0-2 years of experience in aerospace/aeronautical/mechanical engineering.
- For senior-level Mechanical Engineers: Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 5.
- 7 years of experience, or a Master's and 3 to 5 years of experience in aerospace/aeronautical/mechanical engineering.
- Knowledge of mechanism acceptance standards for spaceflight applications.
- Ability to travel to testing sites as needed.
- US citizenship is required.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
