About the role
- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Area of expertise to ensure production of high quality images.
- Safe operation of equipment and accessories with proper warm-up exposure, daily QC and good reporting techniques: Follows proper shutdown procedures for scanning and processing equipment.
- Notifies the department and/or PACS manager of any errors or outstanding problems with completing patient data. - Completion of Safety Reports.
Responsibilities
- Utilization of the Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS): Creates and Imports CDs. Notifies the department and/or PACS manager of any errors or outstanding problems with completing patient data.
- Performs correct exam on correct patient: Utilize two patient identifiers: name and date of birth ( Using the Meditech requisition and the patient's ID band along with active communication with family), Verify the Meditech order with the physician's order ( Initial physician's order confirming verification.)

Requirements
- Light lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 10-20 lbs occasionally and frequent moving of objects of less than 10 lbs is required.
- Frequent sitting with some walking, standing, squatting, bending and reaching is required.
- Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.
- Degree: Completion of an accredited Radiological program
- License/Certification Required: Registered by the American Registry of Radiographic Technology (ARRT).
Nice to have
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiographic Technology (ARRT).
- Certification in Computerized Tomography Preferred
- 1 year general Radiology experience.
- 3-5 years of general Radiology with 1 year CT experience preferred.
Skills
- Operate CT, X-ray and auxiliary equipment to produce quality images.
- Ability to work flexible hours-alternate shift, rotates on call for evening, weekend and holiday coverage.
- Maintains an appropriate level of eye contact.
- Handles telephone calls and in-person contacts in a friendly, courteous and sensitive manner.
- Helps patients to feel comfortable by introducing self and calling patients by their name.
- Keeps patients informed about actions to be taken.
