Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of three indirect tax professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Manage and ensure timely and accurate filing of all state and federal regulatory filings, such as FCC/USAC reports, State PSC reports, and Canadian CRTC filings.
- Develop and implement strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax positions.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors and consultants.
- Lead and support the company during federal, state, and local telecom and indirect tax audits.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including sales, legal, accounting, and business operations, to provide tax support and guidance.
- Develop and maintain internal controls over tax processes to ensure SOX compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in indirect tax, with a focus on the telecommunications industry.
- Demonstrated experience with FCC/USAC filings and telecom tax compliance.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian GST/HST regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have
- CPA and/or Master of Science in Taxation.
- Experience with Avalara tax automation software.
- Experience working in a corporate tax department or a public accounting firm.
