About the role

Perform welding and/or brazing operations to repair furniture or equipment.
Perform duties on all buildings on campus and all exterior features on campus.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Two (2) years of experience in work involving the inspection, repair and general maintenance of household, office and other equipment, fixtures, fittings, appliances, machinery, furnishings, and buildings.
Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of the vehicle rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
Knowledge of standard tools, materials and methods.
Ability to work with diverse populations and in a team.
Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
Ability to analyze/trouble shoot problems.
Ability to read, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform duties of this position.
Availability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
High School Diploma or GED certificate.
NOTE: This is a Civil Service position. As required by the State of New Jersey, in order to be certified to the position and attain permanent status in title, candidates are subject to an examination process and successful completion of a 4-Month Working Test Period.
This position is designated as essential. The designation of essential requires employees at these 24/7 facilities to be present due to inclement weather situations. This position requires on campus work and is not a position that allows remote work.

O14: $46,295.93 -$67,001.13 *NOTE: Salaries for internal candidates are determined by the New Jersey Civil Service Commission's formula.
Salaries for external candidates are determined up to step four, $52,507.49.
