Responsibilities
- Provide daily direction to quality control inspectors and material receiving inspector, providing guidance and support as well as assigning daily activities and escalating issues to the Quality Supervisor as needed.
- Manage and coordinate quality control activities and projects.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes and systems.
- Implement corrective actions to address quality issues.
- Maintain accurate and complete quality records.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure quality standards are met.
Requirements
- Ability to obtain Visual/Magnetic Testing Level II certification within six months of employment
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally and/or a negligible amount of weight frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
- Assist in the training of other personnel as required by the appropriate management personnel or as required by the specific task being performed
- Review Inspection and Test Plan as required
Nice to have
- Minimum of one year of experience with ASME Section VIII, IX, V, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.5, ASME B31.9, AWS D1.1, SSPC, or similar welding, construction, and quality codes.
Skills
- Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, time management and communication/writing skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Google Docs
- Knowledge of quality control processes, procedures, ISO9001, and tools.
- Ability to use basic mathematics in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to analyze data and identify trends.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Work with minimal supervision in the accomplishment of duties.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and ensure accuracy.
- Minimum of two years of experience in quality assurance, quality control or quality management
- Minimum of two years of experience with ISO-9000 or similar quality management systems.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Associates Degree in Applied Science or any other relevant field (engineering, science, quality management) is a plus
