About the role

  • Responsible for the daily operation of Schweitzer Utility & Water Company's water and wastewater systems.
  • Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities:
  • Ensure proper treatment and distribution of domestic water supply for public consumption.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain overall safety and security of the water storage system.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of supply, storage, and distribution systems.
  • Maintain daily records and documentation to comply with DEQ and other relevant regulations.

Requirements

  • Develop a strong understanding of system infrastructure.
  • License/Certifications - We will assist you acquire the required state certifications for Level 1 water and wastewater system operators.
  • Must have working knowledge in the use of hand and power tools and be mechanically inclined with good trouble-shooting skills.

Nice to have

  • Strong initiative and guest service skills are preferred.

Skills

  • Technical - Must have working knowledge in the use of hand and power tools and be mechanically inclined with good trouble-shooting skills.
  • Familiarity with, and ability to operate, heavy equipment helpful.
  • Familiarity with plumbing and pipe installation helpful.
  • Basic computer skills (data entry) required.
  • Expected to stand/walk entirety of shift.
  • Will regularly walk on slick and slippery surfaces.
  • Additional - Strong initiative and guest service skills are preferred.
  • Education/Related Experience:
  • Minimum education required - GED or Highschool Diploma
  • Minimum time in related position - at least 6 months experience preferred

Compensation

  • starts at $21.00/hr Certifications affect pay range.
