About the role
- Properly identify patients and follow procedures for the collection of specimens.
- Ensure that all information from the blood collection of specimens is entered into the laboratory computer system including time drawn, time received, and proper phlebotomist code.
- Collect a chain of custody urine drug screens for pre-employment, post-accident, and just cause cases using proper collection procedures defined by the client.
Requirements
- Pick up samples from nursing units as required.
- verbal ability to communicate with patients
- BLS is required and must be completed prior to the end of orientation period, valid Pennsylvania Driver's License required
Nice to have
- Completion of a formal training course in phlebotomy procedures from an accredited school or training program is preferred.
- Experience/Specialized Skills/Aptitudes One (1) year phlebotomy experience preferred.
