About the role

This position also edits assigned content, including news segment, program segments, promotional materials, and other content as needed.

Create and produce graphics for all NJPBS programs and platforms.
Design and animate on-screen lower thirds, name tags, and title cards for news and programming.
Create broadcast-ready motion graphics for show opens, bumpers, and stingers.
Build and maintain template libraries for recurring segments and shows.
Manage and organize media assets in a shared storage system.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in journalism, design, information technology, communications, broadcasting or a related field.
A minimum of three years of experience in motion graphics and video editing work.
Proficiency in industry-standard software like Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere Pro), and familiarity with broadcast CG systems like Chyron or Vizrt.
Ability to work accurately under tight, non-negotiable deadlines in a live broadcast setting.
Ability to work under deadline pressure in a fast-paced live news environment.
Experience in a journalism, media, or public media production environment.
Export and deliver files in formats required by master control or playout systems.
Strong communication skills to collaborate with producers, reporters, and master control staff and translate editorial needs into finished visuals.
A solid understanding of broadcast technical standards - frame rates, aspect ratios, color spaces, and loudness requirements.
