About the role
- We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented college student who can assist the Program Coordinator with recruitment, community engagement, and administrative tasks.
- We welcome applicants passionate about education, filmmaking, and empowering students through storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting email outreach to schools, students, and community partners
- Support scheduling and logistics for workshops, school visits, and recruitment events
- Manage data entry of participant and school information, key performance and metrics tracking, surveys and assessments, and event engagement
- Help maintain program presence at school and community events by distributing promotional materials and answering student questions
- Help manage and archive program files and student records, including badging and projects
- Provide basic support for social media content related to promotion, recruitment, and community engagement efforts
- Our work has since expanded to help build a more inclusive media industry and provide emerging talent with the mentorship, skills, and professional networks needed to succeed.
- Our workforce development program, MediaMKRS, was launched by Reel Works in 2019 to address the crisis of inclusion in the media industry with a goal to diversify the media landscape and create equitable solutions.
Requirements
- Two (2) days in office minimum is required.
- On-site program location visits across New York City is required.
- Eligible to work in the U.S.

- Proficient in Google Apps (Docs, Sheets, Calendar) and comfortable with data entry and tracking systems
- Able to assist program staff with administrative work related to education, recruitment, and outreach
- Comfortable and effective in interacting professionally with Reel Works staff, parents, partners, and participants
- Able to provide innovative solutions and organizational systems
- Willing to attend school and community events to represent the program
