Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial agreements including sales and service contracts, offtake agreements, and procurement and vendor agreements
- Partner closely with commercial and sales teams to improve contracting workflows and support rapid business growth
- Support supply chain and procurement initiatives, including manufacturing, equipment, and strategic supplier relationships
- Support corporate governance activities, fundraising efforts, board materials, and related corporate matters
- Support intellectual property matters including patents and trademarks, and coordinating with IP counsel as needed
Nice to have
- Prior in-house counsel experience at an energy, infrastructure, climate technology, or manu
- Assist with performance guarantees, commissioning terms, warranties, and other operationally complex contractual provisions relevant to the energy industry
- Provide legal guidance on new business initiatives, partnerships, and emerging workstreams across the organization
- Help establish internal legal processes, policies, and operational protocols that enable teams to operate efficiently and autonomously
- Serve as a trusted advisor capable of balancing legal risk with business objectives in a fast-paced startup environment
- Provide practical guidance on regulatory and compliance matters impacting the business and energy storage industry
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership California state bar
- 5+ years of legal experience with a combination of law firm and/or in-house experience preferred
