About the role
- You will act as the connective tissue between leadership and the systems that allow the firm to scale.
- Your work directly impacts hiring quality, employee performance, compliance, and overall business growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage employee handbook updates, policy revisions, and compliance communications to ensure policies remain current and legally compliant
- Support compliance with federal and state employment laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and applicable state regulations.
- Partner with legal counsel or PEO providers as needed.
- Maintain training logs and compliance records
- Partner with department heads to identify and close training gaps
- This isn't just a coordinator role - it's a chance to build something meaningful and make your mark on a firm that's going places.
- Duties may be adjusted as needed, and team members may be asked to perform other tasks as assigned, in compliance with applicable laws.
Requirements
- 3-6 years of HR Generalist or People Operations experience
- Experience supporting recruiting (posting, screening, coordination, compensation proposals)
- Experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., BambooHR, Rippling, Gusto)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
Nice to have
- Experience in a law firm, professional services, or high-growth company
- Familiarity with legal recruiting (attorneys, paralegals, intake roles)
- Experience with ATS platforms (Bamboo, RecruitIQ)
- Experience implementing or migrating HR systems
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification (strongly preferred)
- A self-starter who takes ownership and executes without being chased
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- A direct and professional communicator
Compensation
- Lead annual open enrollment, including employee communications, enrollment support, eligibility management, and issue resolution
- Partner with benefits brokers and insurance carriers during annual renewals, participating in plan evaluations, vendor negotiations, and benefit strategy recommendations to leadership
- Salary commensurate with experience
