About the role

  • Zenlayer Inc. is looking for Internet Data Center (IDC) Engineers/Technicians to station at its data center located in Akron, Ohio.
  • The job requires physical strength and shift flexibility to accommodate full IDC service coverage.
  • Provide smart-hands assistance at various sites within specified SLA (Service Level Agreement) response time.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and secure operation environment by reporting any violations to the direct supervisor, adhere to security and safety of data protection protocols, error logging practices and support operating procedures.
  • Maintain asset management and compliance with audit, daily log tracking, fulfilling documentation, retention practices and inventory checking.
  • Strong working knowledge with servers and network hardware/components, copper and fiber infrastructure installations and testing, data center product support applications, software (Windows, Linux, SSH, RDP, Putty, etc.) configurations and data center infrastructure management (DCIM) related tools.

Requirements

  • Must be action oriented - understand task priority and the urgency of meeting deadlines.
  • Not only do you have a team player mentality, but you are ready to infuse passion into your work in internet networking.
  • Knowledge of networking, servers and OS.
  • Ability to use IDC hand tools.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work at heights from a ladder and in noisy or confined space.
  • Ability to travel 20%+ of time when required.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, positive in approach, professional and help create, develop and implement project process improvements.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's or higher degree preferred.
  • More than 1 year of above IDC experience.
  • Previous managerial position in this category.
  • Any above-describe IDC qualifications, certifications or rewards.

  • Compensation package will be commensurate with experience.
