About the role

  • GAF is searching for a Quality Engineer who will assist with creating and maintaining the quality culture at the plant level.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Operations and process engineering to optimize finished good performance through formulation changes, and process changes
  • Manage quality data and testing frequency to understand, improve, and define quality control through the process and products
  • Collaborate with the process engineer on execution.
  • Manage Calibration, Audit, Finished goods, COA records, and raw material batch tracking
  • Support product improvement and new product development efforts.
  • Lead the efforts to define and develop testing protocols for finished product performance or raw material performance.
  • Conduct Vendor CAPA analysis on raw materials. Collaborate with procurement, supply chain, and the suppliers to find a resolution and improve upon raw material quality issues. Communicate findings to the plant
  • Conduct internal CAPAs for the plant with support from the process engineer.
  • Develop and Perform warehouse audits periodically

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in engineering/STEM Required
  • 5+ years of experience in a Quality/Mfg role as equivalent Required
  • 3+ years demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment Required
  • Knowledge of engineering fundamentals to include root cause analysis, statistical process control, lean/agile approaches and structured problem solving.
  • Ability to translate technical data into a format/ language suitable for personnel.
  • Ability to read and concentrate via computer data entry typing and proofreading.

  • Take action based on testing results
  • They will execute approved capital improvements resulting from these projects, by coordinating with managers on timelines, budget and resources needed.
  • Update and review plant specific SOPs and GAF ISO Quality manual
  • Train production personnel on Statistical Quality Control (SQC) as it relates to impacts on finished goods and raw material variations.
  • Conduct Vendor CAPA analysis on raw materials.
  • Communicate findings to the plant
  • Work closely with QA, and other quality engineers to standardize best practices between the quality departments of each plant
  • Management of the plants red tag system

Compensation

  • $76,000-$104,500
