About the role
- Consistently works in a safe manner with regard to self, co-workers, and manufacturing systems.
- Complies with applicable OSHA regulations, Cabinetworks Group H&S policies and EPA regulations.
- Diagnose, reports, and repairs sub-standard equipment by troubleshooting to the component level.
Responsibilities
- Prepares for use, performs operational checks, inspects and completes routine repairs and major overhauls with little or no immediate supervision.
- Provide support in project work and other special requests.
- Communicates and documents all work performed in CMMS (Limble), in compliance with work order process guidelines.
- This role ensures assigned departments remain in safe, efficient working order to prevent operational disruptions and maintain OSHA compliance.
- The technician will execute preventative maintenance plans, complete timely corrective repairs, and support overall site maintenance needs.
Requirements
- Must be capable of working outside in all weather conditions.
- Must have sufficient hand eye coordination to manage precise movements.
- Overtime is required, including nights, days, weekends at times with little or no advance notice.
- Performing general housekeeping tasks and waste removal within the department/group and assists other areas as required.
- Good interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with a highly participating work system.
Nice to have
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's degree or certifications in a technical/manufacturing field a definite plus.
Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or certifications in a technical/manufacturing field a definite plus.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- 1+ years' experience in a heavy mechanical / electrical manufacturing environment.
- 1+ years' experience in plumbing.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
- HVAC/Boiler knowledge is a plus.
- Experience with Preventative Maintenance (PM).
- Strong analytical, technical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of TPM / Lean or other continuous improvement processes.
- Computer literacy with ability to learn new computer software programs.
- Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) trained or willing to become trained.
- Proficient reading technical documents, drawings, and schematics.
