About the role

  • Urschel, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking an Associate Buyer to join our Procurement team.
  • This position serves as a key liaison between plant operations and the supply base.
  • The Associate Buyer is primarily responsible for the procurement of capital equipment and related goods and services, including tooling, ancillary equipment, and coordination of delivery and installation activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the procurement of capital equipment and related purchases, including tooling, ancillary equipment, and associated services, ensuring timely delivery and support of project requirements.
  • Provide backup support for other Buyers and assigned commodity groups as needed.
  • Support for Community Involvement/Philanthropy
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Nice to have

  • An Associate's degree and 2+ years of procurement or supply chain experience, or a high school diploma/GED and 3+ years of relevant procurement experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • The ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities and projects.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and data analysis tools, particularly Microsoft Excel.
