- Reviews and checks work in accordance with laboratory policy.
Responsibilities
- Performs and interprets technical procedures in assigned departments according to approved policies and procedures within established turn around times.
- Performs testing and records test results correctly either manually or in the computer system.
- Performs all automated and manual test procedures according to the procedure manual.
- Demonstrates the ability to perform preventative maintenance and start-up procedures for instruments in the laboratory.
- Performs at an acceptable pace to ensure the prompt reporting of accurate patient results.
- He or she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time.
- Maintains good rapport with co-workers, nurses, physicians, patients and their families.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Maintains required documentation in accordance with guidelines established by regulatory agencies and according to laboratory policy.
- Demonstrates the ability to analyze quality control on all tests performed for accuracy.
Skills
- Exhibits a professional image using positive interpersonal skills.
Compensation
- Annually completes competency validation, mandatory safety programs and OSHA requirements.
