About the role
- ASL Instructors teach various levels in ASL using a given curriculum and demonstrate ASL strategies in the classroom.Other tasks include maintaining logistics, conducting assessments for promotion, and creating a positive learning environment.

Requirements
- Demonstrate knowledge of ASL curriculum, teaching strategies, and techniques.
- Demonstrate ability to analyze and assess sign proficiency of participants.
- Fluency in American Sign Language required.
- Must be able to screen out participants and place them in the appropriate class level.
- The successful candidate will undergo a background check that must be cleared prior to working at Gallaudet University.
- High School diploma or GED plus two years of post-secondary education in elementary education, deaf education, ASL teaching, or other related fields.
Nice to have
- One year of experience related to teaching ASL in the classroom.
