Responsibilities

  • Performing monthly and quarterly overhead expense reviews, including analysis of actual results, close support, and variance explanations.
  • Collaborate actively.
  • Be accountable, manage risk and deliver TransRe's strengths
  • The Financial Accountant will support financial reporting, management reporting, overhead expense analysis, budgeting, and related projects within a small team environment.
  • This position requires a detail-oriented accounting professional who can apply accounting knowledge, analyze financial information, communicate clearly, and manage assigned responsibilities with independence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited university.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, Pivot Tables, x-lookups, and other functions to support financial reporting, analysis, and reconciliations.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
  • Ability to analyze financial information and explain variances or trends clearly.
  • Experience with financial reporting, expense analysis, budgeting, or audit support.
  • Experience preparing or reviewing financial schedules and supporting documentation.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems, Workday is a plus.

Compensation

  • In addition to base salary, for this position, TransRe offers a comprehensive benefits package, paid time off, and incentive pay opportunity.
  • The anticipated annual base salary range in New York for this position, exclusive of benefits, paid time off, and incentive pay opportunity is $80,000 - $110,000.
  • This range is an estimate and the actual base salary offered for this position will be determined based on certain factors, including the applicant's specific skill set and level of experience.
  • Assisting with the preparation, review, and analysis of annual overhead expense budgets.
  • This role will assist with quarterly and annual reporting deliverables, monthly and quarterly close activities, and the preparation and review of financial statements and expense budgets.
