- Position Overview Woolpert is hiring a Marine Geophysical Specialist to join our dynamic Maritime Team.
Responsibilities
- Perform geophysical surveys support of government and private sector clients in energy, telecommunications, environmental remediation, transportation, and utilities.
- When not in the field, the candidate will support marine geophysical data processing and analysis, reporting, field planning, logistics, proposal writing, and estimating.
- Support the entire geophysical project life cycle, including proposal development, survey design, mobilization, survey acquisition, QA-QC, data processing, data interpretation, and reporting.
- Ability to work in a team environment, self-manage, and manage others.
- Ability to perform field work, including travel and weekends, and the physical ability to lift objects over 50lbs.
Requirements
- Must be willing to travel up to 50% for project related purposes*
- Candidates may be required to transport and operate company owned vessels up to 30 feet in length.
- However, a captain's license is not required.
- Occasionally candidates will be required to acquire or process using atypical tools.
- Experience with industry standard software packages such as: QPS Qinsy and Qimera, SonarWiz, Mogo SeaView, Hypack, Oasis Montaj, Kingdom Suite, Seismic Unix, Discover, Global Mapper, POS Pac, ArcGIS, etc.
Compensation
- Travel extensively up for periods of up to four weeks at a time and typically not more than six months per year.
