About the role
- Irrigation of greenhouses and gardens including weekends.
- Transplanting and propagating of collections and crops.
- Plant sales, customer relations, money handling.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled at JJC in at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semester.
- Completing a Horticulture Degree.
Nice to have
- Some experience in greenhouse and garden related work.
- Valid Driver's license.
- Self-starter, able to work independently.
- English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
- Demonstrated multicultural competence.
- Lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, bend down to pull weeds or plant, do stairs.
- Duties are performed in greenhouses with possible wet floors, high or low temperatures, and high humidity.
- Duties are performed in the Formal Gardens or Land Lab with plants, water, high or low temperatures, possible insects and irritants.
