About the role
- Crane Aerospace & Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a Precision Grinder - 2nd Shift for our Hone, Lap, and Grind (HLG) Team at our Burbank, CA location.
- Second Shift Hours are Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM -10:30 PM.
- Overtime may adjust start time (e.g., 3:00 PM for extended overtime) and/or extend end time.
Responsibilities
- We employ Lean manufacturing techniques to optimize manufacturing efficiency and accuracy on all product lines.
- In our efforts to maintain a safe and drug-free workplace, Crane Aerospace & Electronics requires that candidates complete a satisfactory background check.
Requirements
- Knowledge: Understanding of GD&T, Gaging Practices, Grinding Media
- Knowledge: Computation and analysis comprehension in support of GD&T requirements and basic gaging practices required
Nice to have
- CNC Grinding equipment experience using FANUC or equivalent controls
- Precision Grinder Level III - Overview
- The Grinder Precision III operates precision grinding machines to produce parts according to established blueprint and engineering specifications.
- Essential Functions:
- Able to assist in the development of new routings and techniques.
- Selects feeds, speeds, and media used to ensure blueprint requirements are met
- Able to configure/baseline machine settings and media to achieve the tightest tolerance requirements.
- Highly proficient and agile in computing machine offsets, clearances, taper, and similar characteristics.
Skills
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude in an adjacent environment (work, school, or other) strongly desired
- Manual and CNC Grinding and related gaging and computational skills
Compensation
- Salary Ranges for Precision Grinder Level I, II and III.
- Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications.
