About the role

- This position works Sunday thru Tuesday 11am to 7pm.
Responsibilities
- Maintains and repairs city parking lots, structures, facilities,, and right-of-way amenities such as bike racks, benches and trash cans. Includes tasks such as trash, graffiti and snow removal; painting; signage installation; sweeping; other tasks as needed.
- Maintains accurate records of work performed and materials and equipment used.
- Remains alert to conditions and events occurring in the business districts. Identifies anticipated repairs and reports problems to supervisor or lead.
- Ability to demonstrate basic knowledge of modern building systems including HVAC and Fire and Life Safety Systems
- Ability to demonstrate dependability - Works effectively on a team and individually to perform work in an accurate and efficient manner and following standard procedures.
- Valid Driver's License and ability to maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Have and maintain acceptable background information to obtain and maintain CJIS Certification, including criminal conviction history.
Requirements
- Ability to demonstrate detail-oriented work experience - Has attention to detail, understands and applies industry best practices, and is organized in field work.
- Ability to demonstrate working as a supportive teammate - Is confident and professional in working with others.
- Skills exhibiting proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Under general supervision, the Parking Maintenance Technician II performs custodial, maintenance, repair, and equipment operation tasks and related duties as required.
- Ability to work irregular hours, an adjusted schedule, evenings, weekends, holidays, emergencies and/or snow shifts as required.
Nice to have
- Ability to demonstrate experience working with fire alarm, fire sprinkler, lighting, electrical, elevator, dewatering, irrigation and/or other systems associated with parking structures
- Ability and experience performing a wide range of technical, mechanical, physical and manual tasks such as plumbing, carpentry, and electrical tasks in commercial buildings
- Knowledge and experience working in urban environment or high visitor use areas
- Skidsteer Certification
- Forklift Certification
- Two (2) years of previous work experience with parking structure maintenance
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- or, as a non-current employee, the ability to obtain this certification within six (6) months.
Compensation
- This is a full-time hourly position.
