About the role
- Sonographers work closely with the Ultrasound leadership and the Radiologists.
- Review patients' charts and results from previous ultrasound examinations or other diagnostic studies, records patients' personal and medical information.

- The Sonographer performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with integrity and initiative.
Nice to have
- Explain ultrasound procedures to patients in order to allay apprehensions and elicit cooperation using care, courtesy, tact, and empathy.
- Consult with the radiologist and experienced associates to determine the need for additional images for comprehensive interpretation.
- Assist in the performance of aspiration, biopsy or operating room procedures maintaining sterilization, isolation and infection and infection control techniques to prevent contamination.
- Rotate shifts, weekends, and holidays as deemed appropriate by management, including assignments to other campuses.

- The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is responsible to review the Physician Order and reason for exam and prepare the patient for the exam/procedure.
- The Sonographer performs a variety of specialized medical ultrasound examinations/procedures to obtain high quality images for diagnostic interpretation and may also assist the physician with US-guided procedures.
