About the role
- As a Controls Project Manager for our HVAC division, you will act as the on-site leader for assigned controls projects, guiding work from planning through commissioning and closeout.
Responsibilities
- Lead assigned HVAC controls projects through hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, commissioning, and closeout.
- Coordinate day-to-day execution with subcontractors, electrical installers, technicians, designers, and administrative support as needed.
- Manage project financial performance, including costs, billings, collections, cash flow, and gross margin.
- Validate complete system functionality, resolve issues, and ensure the final installation performs to project requirements.
- To support an efficient and fair hiring process, we may use technology assisted tools, including artificial intelligence (AI), to help identify and evaluate candidates.

Requirements
- Technical associate degree with four years of field experience, or six years of equivalent related field experience in the HVAC or Building Automation industry.
- Proven verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.
- Computer proficiency in Windows, Excel, and related business tools.
- Attend job progress meetings, report project status, and provide forecasts for revenue, costs, and margin as required.
- Own each project with accountability, safety, and integrity, making sure commitments are met and work is completed to the required standard.
- Hands-on experience in systems design and commissioning of digital HVAC or Building Automation controls systems.
- HVAC controls knowledge and a solid understanding of control theory and HVAC or Building Automation systems.
- Customer communication experience, along with strong organizational skills and a proven ability to lead projects.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Understanding of project accounting, costing principles, and contracting.
- Commitment to high standards of safety and ethical conduct.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience in the HVAC industry.
- Experience preparing project status reports for upper management.
- Experience with project billings, collections, subcontractor payment processes, or change order management.

Compensation
- $89,400 - $134,250 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role offers a competitive Bonus plan that will take into account individual, group, and corporate performance.
