About the role

  • Job Details Working under the direction of the Robert M.
  • Stein, MD '68, FACC, FAHA Archivist and the Digital Archivist, the Archives Technician assists in the processing of archival materials for the Siegman Archives and in assisting researchers with access to the archives collections.
  • It is intended to be an accurate reflection of the current position, however management reserves the right to revise or change as necessary to meet organizational needs.

Requirements

  • Required: 1-2 years' experience in archives, special collections, libraries, or a related cultural heritage environment
  • Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with library systems and discovery tools is preferred
  • Coursework or graduate degree in archives, library science, history, or a related field
  • Basic knowledge of archival principles, practices, and relevant metadata standards for archival collections
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with Archivists' Toolkit, Archives Space, and Archive-It.

Skills

  • General computer knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) is required.
  • The ability to pay close attention to detail and to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy is required.
  • Strong organization and communication skills are required.
