About the role
- This individual will provide practical guidance on HIPAA, security, financial, and privacy matters while independently managing cross-functional projects.
- The ideal candidate is collaborative, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused, with strong judgment, and integrity.
- Provide business-minded legal guidance to a growing healthcare software company, including around privacy, secure payment and billing practices, information security, intellectual property, and procurement.
Responsibilities
- Contract drafting and review in support of Tebra's business development, operations, products and services.
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to conduct legal reviews of new software features, ensuring compliance by design.
- Manage customer and vendor escalations and disputes to resolution.
- Provide support and legal guidance to ensure Tebra's compliance with applicable laws, regulatory requirements and Tebra's policies and procedures.
- Designed to replace the clunky, fragmented tools built for corporate systems, Tebra connects EHR software, billing, automation, telehealth solution, and marketing - so providers can spend less time on admin and more time with patients.
Requirements
- Ability to work well with employees and managers at all levels within Tebra.
- Strong ability to balance legal risk with business objectives in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Experience with adopting AI-driven legal tools to improve productivity and manage high-volume contract review.
- Must have a JD from an accredited law school and be admitted to practice in California (or eligible for Registered In-House Counsel status).
Skills
- Provide guidance on a broad range of privacy and security frameworks, including HIPAA, CCPA/CPRA, and emerging state data privacy laws.
- Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
