About the role

  • This individual will provide practical guidance on HIPAA, security, financial, and privacy matters while independently managing cross-functional projects.
  • The ideal candidate is collaborative, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused, with strong judgment, and integrity.
  • Provide business-minded legal guidance to a growing healthcare software company, including around privacy, secure payment and billing practices, information security, intellectual property, and procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Contract drafting and review in support of Tebra's business development, operations, products and services.
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to conduct legal reviews of new software features, ensuring compliance by design.
  • Manage customer and vendor escalations and disputes to resolution.
  • Provide support and legal guidance to ensure Tebra's compliance with applicable laws, regulatory requirements and Tebra's policies and procedures.
  • Designed to replace the clunky, fragmented tools built for corporate systems, Tebra connects EHR software, billing, automation, telehealth solution, and marketing - so providers can spend less time on admin and more time with patients.

Requirements

  • Ability to work well with employees and managers at all levels within Tebra.
  • Strong ability to balance legal risk with business objectives in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with adopting AI-driven legal tools to improve productivity and manage high-volume contract review.
  • Must have a JD from an accredited law school and be admitted to practice in California (or eligible for Registered In-House Counsel status).

Skills

  • Provide guidance on a broad range of privacy and security frameworks, including HIPAA, CCPA/CPRA, and emerging state data privacy laws.
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Compensation

  • In compliance with California pay transparency laws, the specific compensation range applicable to your Geo Zone will be shared during your initial talent screen.
  • $159,000 - $181,500 USD
