About the role
- The work involves interpreting state and federal regulations regarding the funding of programs serving individuals with substance use disorders, intellectual & developmental disabilities, and mental illness.
- May supervise, and coordinate with, subordinate departmental and contract agency personnel.
- In order to become permanent, the employee who is provisionally appointed must take the next examination for the position in question.
Responsibilities
- Researches and develops proposals and applications for funding of programs under state, federal and private grants;
- Plans and designs new projects and programs;
- Develops and maintains working relationships with state and local agencies and other county services;

- Thorough knowledge of all phases of project design, implementation and maintenance
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, department administrators, and representatives of outside agencies

Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of the organization of state and local governments
- Thorough knowledge of the availability of grants for programs concerned with community mental hygiene
- Good knowledge of the trends, developments and current literature in the field of mental hygiene services
- Ability to interpret government fiscal reporting forms and procedures
- Ability to effectively supervise and coordinate with subordinate departmental and contract agency personnel
- Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Does related work as required.
Compensation
- Starting Salary: $ 66,712
