About the role
- Direct all field construction activities and personnel to ensure that the assigned project meets budget, schedule and safety objectives
Responsibilities
- Trains and manages Foremen from various trades and field administrative personnel
- Through assigned Foremen, manages the day-to-day activities of the construction operation
- In conjunction with the Project Manager, creates and maintains project schedule, plans, monitors and reviews critical path dates and milestone schedules
- Supports the Project Manager in the negotiation of claims and changes
- Fay, S&B USA Construction builds complex infrastructure across the Mid-Atlantic such as major bridges, tunnels, highways, and P3 programs that demand technical depth and strong field leadership.
Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to Carry tools and equipment, climb or balance
- The employee must frequently work or walk on uneven ground and is required to wear steel toed boots at all times.
- Maintains open communication between all subcontractors to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc. support project activities and project schedule
Skills
- Knowledge of earthwork, grading and drainage work. Trench safety experience is a priority.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of construction scheduling, cost control and ability to control and supervise small to midsized groups
- Good organization, multi-tasking, leadership and decision-making ability
- Basic computer skills preferred
- Knowledge of Machine Control systems.
