About the role

  • The Assistant Director will encourage a supportive and inclusive environment aligned with the values of the office and Wofford College.
  • The Assistant Director is a 12-month, full-time position (40 hours/week).
  • Normal office hours are 8:30am to 5pm Monday through Friday; however, hours may vary widely to include working evening and weekends, contingent on campus activities, and special events.

Responsibilities

  • Manage ongoing room assignment process, including the mid-year housing application, commuting notifications, and study away form.
  • Manage room and building access protocols for the office, including maintaining all residential keys coordinating changes and updates with the Facilities, communicating ID access information to Campus Safety, and managing the electronic key cabinet system
  • Manage the summer housing program and serve as the liaison with the summer camps/conferences staff to facilitate external housing requests
  • Create and maintain an Operations calendar
  • Execute building openings and closings throughout the year
  • Maintain the webpages for the Office of Residence Life
  • Provide trainings, information sessions, and materials to ensure transparency of policies, processes, and procedures to students, staff, and appropriate campus partners
  • Lead the Office of Residence Life in the absence of the Director and Associate Director of Residence Life
  • The college community supports 19 NCAA Division I athletics teams and numerous student organizations, including honor societies, professional organizations, faith-based organizations, Greek life, and club sports.
  • Spartanburg is a growing, diverse community that supports six college and university campuses along with numerous civic arts and cultural associations.

Compensation

  • Plan and execute the annual room selection lottery each spring and the housing selection process for incoming students each summer
  • Salary will be commensurate with experience.
