About the role
- The Welder is responsible for completing production work safely and responsibly.
Responsibilities
- Performs complex and precision welding techniques.
- Designs, fabricates, joins and/or repairs space age metals, scientific and research components using oxygen-acetylene, electric arc, MIG and TIG welding techniques.
- Operates drill presses, power saws, grinders, positioners and a variety of welding equipment and hand tools. May also perform minor operations on metal lathes and milling machines.
Requirements
- Knowledge of applicable codes.
- Knowledge of welding techniques (oxygen-acetylene, electric arc, MIG, TIG, controlled atmosphere, and plasma cutting), tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of non-destructive inspection techniques.
