About the role

  • It's a unique state and federal relationship accomplished through various Cooperative Agreements with the National Guard Bureau.
  • This procurement position is an integral part of that process assigned to the Comptroller Division working closely with the staff and members of the federal programs.
  • The Military Department prides itself on customer service and the ability to work together as a team.

Responsibilities

  • Execute contracts, purchase orders, change orders and other documents within delegated authority.
  • Perform contract administration, including liaison between vendors and departments, compliance with contract terms and conditions, compliance with grant requirements, negotiation of contract amendments, extensions and change orders.
  • Maintain integrity and professionalism when representing the agency at public and private sector meetings.
  • Successfully work as part of a contracting team to provide support to agency personnel requesting goods and services.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or two years of college, with preference for Business, Finance or Accounting coursework or closely related field.
  • Resume and transcript (if applicable) are required

Skills

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
  • Intermediate use of Microsoft Office products (specifically Excel and Word).
  • Budget forecasting experience a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret laws, regulations and policies.

Compensation

  • $52,708 - $65,000
  • Note: Starting salary will be determined based on education and experience.
  • Participate in on-going training to maintain annual CPO certification.

  • This is a full-time state position that provides a percentage of matching contributions to employees' retirement plans, 11 holidays, and a minimum of 15 days of annual and sick leave per year.
