Responsibilities
- Lead accounting activities for assigned operating assets, development projects, joint ventures, and corporate entities.
- Manage, mentor, and develop accounting personnel.
- Maintain compliance with GAAP and governing agreements.
- Review and assess the accounting and financial implications of various legal documents, including but not limited to: PSAs, loan/guaranties, leases.
- propose and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Identify risks; propose and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Maintain strong internal controls.
- Support accounting policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 6-10 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Commercial real estate accounting experience required.
- Strong property, partnership and development accounting experience.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
- CPA strongly preferred; candidates currently pursuing or willing to pursue CPA certification will also be considered.
- High integrity and accountability.
- Strong technical accounting skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Nice to have
