About the role

  • - Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • - 5 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Identify security issues and implement and design security controls, tools, and services to improve security systems and processes.
  • Define the infrastructure to analyze, deploy, and manage vulnerability management across Google.
  • Build a data driven approach to identify existing vulnerabilities to improve the security posture of Alphabet's use of GCP.
  • Partner with other security engineers and teams to prioritize and execute on security debt reduction efforts to deliver the team's objectives and key results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling.
  • 5 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols.
  • 5 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.
  • 1 year of experience leading teams in a technical capacity or leading technical risk analysis in an enterprise environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience working with cloud tools like Terraform.
  • Experience with GCP.
  • Security Engineers work with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions.
  • In this role, you will also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.
  • We work on the problem by keeping Google safe from external attackers, ensuring that exploitable vulnerabilities are detected and closed quickly.

Skills

  • The AutoVM Cloud Usage taskforce is responsible for the vulnerability management of Alphabet's GCP usage.
