Responsibilities

  • Scope and lead data analysis to help our merchant partners understand the impact of Upside to their business, how we drive incremental profit, and answer their broader business questions
  • Interface directly with our merchant partners to deeply understand their business and build strong analytics relationships
  • Manage and lead analysis projects to identify opportunities to improve our product, merchant acquisition strategy, and optimization of our two-sided marketplace
  • Partner closely with Product Marketing to define the ideal solution for articulating the sophistication of our technology to our partners

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in quantitative management consulting, data analytics, or a related role
  • Successful track record of using analytical and communication skills to distill sophisticated concepts and insights into simple and compelling explanations
  • Experience using SQL to analyze and organize multiple large datasets
  • Ability to work well in an ego-free, highly collaborative, and fast-paced startup environment
  • In-office attendance is required on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and may increase based on project-based needs and changes to Upside's in-office policy over time.

Nice to have

  • Degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or field with strong quantitative focus preferred
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker and Tableau) and programming languages (e.g., Python) a plus but not required
  • Client-facing experience a plus but not required
  • Experience with the Grocery, Restaurant, Fuel, or Retail industries a plus but not required

Compensation

  • The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position varies by work location:
  • Tier 1: NYC $170,000 - $190,000
  • Tier 2: Austin, Chicago, Washington, DC $150,000 - $170,000
  • In addition to base salary, this position is also eligible for equity and benefits.
  • The final starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.
