About the role

- Full-time (36 hours/week), nights (6:45p-6:45a)
- Vanderbilt Clarksville Intensive Care Unit (ICU), is a 21 bed mixed medical/surgical adult ICU specialized in providing close monitoring and treatment for patients with a wide-range of diagnosis.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
Requirements
- Demonstrates ability to anticipate resource needs, identify distinct tasks, set priorities, schedule activities, meet deadlines, and organize work within areas of direct responsibility.
- Ability to adapt to changes to patient care and area needs with minimal disruption and loss of productivity.
- Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully search for nutrition evidence to answer clinical questions.
- Evidence-Based Nutrition Practice (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully search for nutrition evidence to answer clinical questions.
Skills
- Professionalism: critical thinking, collaboration, multidisciplinary rounding, bedside shift report, shared governance, certifications.
- New Services: Neurosurgery
- Drips: Vasopressors, inotropes, paralytics, thrombolytic, all sedation, insulin, Blood products, TPN
- Bedside procedures: Central lines, bronch, chest tube, arterial lines, paracentesis, thoracentesis, sheath pulls, cardioversions.
- Specialized competencies: Intra-Aortic Balloon pump, Impella device, EVD, Swan Ganz, Arterial Line
- Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
- Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
