About the role
- Services to be provided include behavioural, and social-emotional assessment, cognitive, psycho-diagnostic assessment, and individual and group education and therapy.
- The Psychologist will function as part of an interdisciplinary oncology service.
- They will have a large role in the implementation of patient and family education groups as well as activities related to research, program development, and program evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Assist and collaborate with program evaluation and development of research projects that reflect the interdisciplinary nature of the clinical services provided by the team.
Requirements
- A psychologist is required to provide psychological services to children and youth treated for oncological conditions.
- Vulnerable Sector Check (Essential)
- Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from a CPA or APA accredited clinical psychology program (Essential)
- Registration as a Psychologist in Ontario or eligibility for registration as a Psychologist (Essential)
- Designated practice as a psychologist in the area of Clinical Psychology with children and adolescents (Essential)
- Knowledge with regard to the interplay between health, mental health and pediatric traumatic stress (Essential)
- Experience in health psychology (Essential)
- Experience in the provision of comprehensive psychological assessments (including cognitive, behavioural and personality measures to a paediatric medical and mental health population (Essential)
- Experience in providing psychological intervention to children with complex medical and mental health conditions (Essential)
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with other health professionals (Essential)
