About the role

Traffic Maintenance Worker I is the entry level class in the Traffic Maintenance Worker series.
Places traffic control markings through the application of paints, plastics, and reflective markers.
This class is in a flexibly-staff series, which requires one year of satisfactory service before an employee can promote to the journey (Traffic Maintenance Worker II) level.

Under supervision, performs a wide variety of skilled traffic safety maintenance tasks, including installation, maintenance, and removal of traffic control signs and markings on City streets for effective traffic control.
Fabricates, assembles, installs, maintains and removes traffic control signs and markings.
Installs and maintains proper signing for construction and maintenance zones.

Operates and maintains equipment required to accomplish the work in traffic control maintenance operations.
Performs related duties as required.
THE REQUIREMENTS Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications on or before the posted filing deadline in order to qualify for the examination and does not assure a place on the eligibility list.
One (1) year of paid work experience in the installation and maintenance of traffic control signs and markings.
