Responsibilities
- Write, test, and maintain application code - from frontend components (React/TypeScript) to backend services and APIs (Golang and/or TypeScript) - following team standards.
- Help build and troubleshoot product features, APIs, and UI workflows, working across the stack as needed.
- Identify and fix bugs, edge cases, and small-scope issues, with support from senior teammates.
- Build working knowledge of distributed systems, service architecture, and Astronomer's product across the application layer.
- Understanding of REST/GraphQL API design and how frontend and backend systems communicate.
Requirements
- 0-4 years of experience in software or application engineering (or equivalent internship/coursework for Software Engineer I).
- You'll get hands-on experience with full-stack development, API design, and production feature delivery from day one - with the guidance of senior engineers as you build toward independent ownership.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with modern frontend tooling (React, state management, component libraries) or backend frameworks.
- Familiarity with Apache Airflow or other data-orchestration tools.

Compensation
- The estimated salary for this role ranges from $144,000 - $160,000 based on level and geography, along with an equity component and a comprehensive benefits package.
