About the role
- Objective and Purpose: The Accountant II is responsible for supporting the financial operations of the multi-entity organization.
- This role plays a key part in day-to-day accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, financial analysis, and monthly close processes.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in a multi-location or healthcare setting, with strong attention to detail and a working knowledge of GAAP.
Responsibilities
- Perform balance sheet and bank account reconciliations, investigating and resolving reconciling items on a timely basis.
- Support general ledger maintenance and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Collaborate with operational teams to collect data and ensure financial accuracy.
- Assist in developing and improving accounting processes, internal controls, and efficiencies.
- Maintain organized and complete documentation supporting all accounting entries and reconciliations.
- Perform other accounting and financial reporting duties and special projects as assigned.
- Support external audits by preparing requested schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Perform t horough review of all work before submission, with minimal errors.
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations monthly, ensuring timely resolution of variances or discrepancies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
- 2- 5 years of accounting experience
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or other ERP systems).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, formulas).
Nice to have
- Experience working in a multi-entity or high-volume accounting environment preferred.
