About the role

  • This includes troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment, utilities, and systems to ensure reliability and efficiency.
  • This position works in a fast-paced environment and requires adaptability, technical knowledge, and a safety-first mindset.
  • This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Support other maintenance personnel in large repairs or special projects.
  • The Maintenance Generalist is responsible for performing skilled maintenance tasks to support continuous plant operations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment failures quickly and effectively to support production needs.
  • Support safe work practices including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and hot work permitting.

Requirements

  • Work at heights, or on ladders or platforms when required.
  • Demonstrate ability to complete standard PMs and basic troubleshooting tasks with minimal supervision by the end of the ramp-up period.
  • MG01 - Up to 1 year of Industrial Maintenance experience.
  • MG02 - Some schooling in Industrial Maintenance Training Program or 1-2 years of industrial maintenance experience.

Skills

  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and technical drawings.
  • Proficient use of hand tools, welding equipment, and multimeters.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and system navigation (SAP, email, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Physical Requirements &
  • Document work performed using SAP.
  • Assist in equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications as directed.
  • Use hand and power tools, welders, and basic diagnostic devices to complete maintenance tasks.
