About the role
- You will work primarily with MariaDB on AWS RDS replicas, with additional exposure to Redis, and related AWS data services.
- You will play a key role in keeping DrChrono's databases performant, secure, resilient, and ready for future modernization, including potential migration from AWS RDS to AWS Aurora.
- This role is ideal for a deeply experienced DBA who enjoys hands-on production work, complex performance troubleshooting, and improving the reliability of business-critical healthcare software.
Responsibilities
- Support backup, restore, disaster recovery, and business continuity practices
- Partner with Security and Compliance teams to support secure handling of PHI
Requirements
- Ability to explain database issues, risks, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Salt, Spacelift, Terraform, OpenTofu, etc.)
- Experience with AWS Redshift
- Experience with AWS DocumentDB
- Experience with AWS QuickSight
- Experience supporting or planning migrations from AWS RDS to AWS Aurora
- Experience with Fivetran or similar data integration platforms
- Familiarity with HITRUST and SOC 2 environments

- Manage Production Database Systems
- Use Bytebase to help administer database access, changes, and workflows
- Tune queries, indexes, schema patterns, and database configurations to improve performance and reliability
- Help establish repeatable steps for diagnosing/resolving recurring database issues
Compensation
- EverCommerce is committed to equal pay and transparency.
- The annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $130,000 USD per year.
