About the role

  • We produce strap, stretch and protective packaging.
  • We also manufacture packaging tools and equipment used to apply the bulk packaging materials.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular quality control checks to ensure products meet established standards and specifications.
  • Make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality.
  • Safely handle and move materials using equipment such as forklifts, hoists, or hand tools to support the production process.
  • Perform routine blade changes, sharpening, and adjustments to ensure optimal cutting performance and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including production counts, downtime, and any quality or machine-related issues.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain machine cleanliness and housekeeping in the area by moving scrap material to baler and sweeping and removing dust and debris.

Requirements

  • To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Nice to have

  • Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Prior skilled machine operation experience preferred.
  • Ability to use basic tools and inspection devices such as utility knives, calipers and tape measure.

Skills

  • These commercial packaging products are used to pack, bundle, unitize, protect, and secure goods during warehousing and transit.
  • Operate slitting machines following standard operating procedures to cut and process materials accurately and efficiently.

Compensation

  • $25.37/hourly +10% shift premium + Sunday Pay Premium
  • Rotating Schedule:
  • 7:45p-8:00am (M/T, F/S |S, W/T)
  • The Slitter Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining slitting machines to process materials according to specifications.
  • This role involves setting up the equipment, monitoring production runs, ensuring quality control, and performing material handling tasks as necessary.
  • The Slitter Operator plays a crucial role in achieving production targets and maintaining product quality.
